Doveton Neighbourhood Place - the first 25 years A project of the Doveton Neighbourhood Place - published in 2002 This book records the first twenty-five years' history of the Doveton Neighbourhood Place. Initiated by the then Doveton-Hallam Community Health Centre, it evolved out of the 'Doveton Drop-In' which was established on 5 May 1976. Local ladies saw the need for a place within the community where people could meet in a friendly atmosphere to participate in recreational and educational activities that would also empower them in their daily lives. Norma Gray and Jane McLean joined the team in July 1976.
